Grid-Line Transportation is headquartered at 2301 S Cline Ave. in Schererville, in Lake County, and has served the Calumet region since 2014. Steel coil, plate, bar and pipe move with us out of northwest Indiana, to Chicagoland and across the Midwest.

The Calumet region runs along the southern shore of Lake Michigan through Lake and Porter counties, from Hammond and East Chicago through Gary to Burns Harbor and Portage. It is one of the centers of American steelmaking, and it is where we are based.
Northwest Indiana mills feed many of our lanes. Coil leaves the region south on I-65 to Jeffersonville and Louisville, east to processors in Butler, and down to Granite City, while coil from Delta and Granite City comes back in.

Every Grid-Line driver is an owner-operator, and every one completes our two-week flatbed and steel securement training program. Regional runs, with an average loaded haul of about 126 miles, mean our owner-operators are home daily. We pay for equipment inspections at our approved facilities, including East Chicago, IN.
